Oregon licensing context

Individual licensing and accepted sponsorship matter.

The Oregon Division of Financial Regulation states that loan originators must be individually licensed through NMLS and the mortgage company must sponsor the license.

Unless an applicable federal temporary-authority provision applies, Oregon requires the license to be approved and company sponsorship accepted before origination. An inactive license does not authorize loan activity.
